A road separates the land from the sea in the nearby bay; the idea is to raise the house so as to visually bypass this barrier and bring the house into direct relation with the sea. The upward displacement creates a sheltered and unobtrusive space for parking. Access through the staircase that dematerializes upward leads to an open space that overlooks the sea. At the rear of the dwelling are bedrooms arranged along an interior patio that accommodates the pool. Screening surfaces filter light while protecting against winds and solar radiation and ensure privacy inside.
