Trullo Kasbah is an example of conservative trullo restoration. The design employed at this marvellous complex of historic trulli in Ostuni has created a dwelling with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, in addition to minor internal modifications and a small extension. The dry stone walls around the pool imitate the natural terraces of the surrounding area, reinforced by restoration that will gently dry out the surrounding subsoil. Particular attention has been paid to the use of traditional materials and building techniques in harmony with the historic characteristics of the existing structure. In restoring this large trullo and its various outbuildings immersed in the natural environment of the Ostuni landscape, it was important to retain the characteristics and shape of the original structure. In fact, it became a conservation project in the literal sense. The external layout, including a swimming pool, solarium and terracing, was integrated into the existing Mediterranean gardens, enhanced with dry stone walls and natural stone paving. We loved restoring this trullo and our client was delighted with the results.
