The "Palazzo Lagravinese" located in the heart of the historic centre of Cisternino, considered the most representative building for the local community, has been the object of special attention due to the intrinsic value it represents; recognised as a work of historical-artistic interest, it has been the subject of careful restoration and refunctionalisation to turn it into a museum. The project required an in-depth study of the historical and constructive features and a meticulous analysis of the state of decay in order to draw up the project and plan the works. The works were conceived with two objectives in mind: the first was to bring back to light, through conservative restoration, the original structure with its splendid hidden or deteriorated decorative installations; the second, given its new intended use, to adapt and re-functionalize it through new installations and architectural works, which, by fitting in discreetly and with respect for the past, are recognisable in their contemporary nature, giving the building another step in its historical stratification.
