The design for this project resulted from the client’s need to create an open-air space for a bar located on a very busy road. The idea was to create a “shell” that would both protect and play host to customers. The casing, made from Cor-Ten steel and “shaped” by the flow of the traffic, becomes a filter between the bar and the street and protects the interior space from the exterior, creating a dialogue with the setting.
