The most beautiful villages in Italy

The most beautiful villages in Italy

23 – 26 November 2017, Cisternino

Corsaro Architetti has been invited to sit on the scientific committee for “The most beautiful villages in the Mediterranean” initiative.
The Municipality of Cisternino, in partnership with “I Borghi più belli d’Italia” [The most beautiful villages in Italy] association and the Puglia Region, is this year aiming to consolidate its position as a leading player in the initiative for the promotion of history and culture, tourism, the environment and architecture called “The most beautiful villages in the Mediterranean”. Through a programme of conferences and themed events open to professionals, citizens, tourists and operators in the history-art-architecture and agro-food sectors, it promotes and develops policies for hospitality and international cooperation, social integration and youth employment.

The conference, now in its fifth year, will focus on themes relating to “The protection, recovery and showcasing of historical centres in small villages” and will take place from 23 to 26 November 2017. It will include the valuable contribution of professional technicians working in the construction sector, experts in art history, architecture and the conservation of artistic heritage, as well as representatives of professional orders and local and international institutions.

Presentations delivered by skilled experts selected by a technical and scientific committee will guide and oversee planning of the work in detail.

The ultimate goal is the in-depth analysis of practices, methods of gathering knowledge and approaches aimed at showcasing small villages and the recovery of architectural heritage.

The backdrop to the event will be provided by a series of exhibitions, concerts and information hubs set up throughout Cisternino during the conference.
